FIPSE Support for CANS...
The School of Information Science & Learning Technologies at the University of Missouri-Columbia, with partners at the
University of Michigan and Virginia Tech, has been awarded
a three-year grant (2007-2009) to advance the use of CANS
and evaluate the impact of its use upon teaching and
learning experiences and practices by the Fund for the
Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE) of the
United States Department of Education.
FIPSE-CANS Project Objectives:
- Develop a method for context awareness that is easy to
use by LMS users
- Evaluate the impact of this method upon learning experiences and practices
- Advance new knowledge about contextual and social
nature of learning online
